Le Jardin Academy has been blessed with an exceptional student-athlete by the name of Rachel Randall.  Rachel is a “beast” in the water and displays extraordinary talent in water sports such as swimming and water polo.  Rachel not only displays great determination in the water but also in academics; currently taking a total of four AP classes including calculus, psychology, physics and Japanese.

Rachel began her swimming career at the age of 7 with the Aulea Swim Club.  Throughout her career, she has accomplished many difficult feats including swimming the Au’ua Channel (approximately 9 miles) three times!  Rachel’s outstanding swimming ability helped her qualify for the State Championships each of her four years in high school.  Among all of Rachel’s countless swimming awards her most memorable was “placing 3rd in the 100m freestyle at States because it felt really good to represent Le Jardin and put our school on the map”.  With Aulea Swim Club, Rachel recently won the “North Shore Swim Series Female Winner” and placed 2nd in the “Waikiki Roughwater Swim” in the 15-19 age group.

Despite being a talented swimmer, Rachel has proved to be exceptional at water polo.  In just her first year of playing the sport, Rachel won Most Valuable Offensive Player and led her team to a 2nd place finish behind Punahou.  The LJA Athletic Program is very eager to lead the water polo team in her final year of high school.  Rachel is not looking to continue her water polo career but is excited to swim at a division 2 or 3 school.  The Le Jardin community wishes Rachel good luck as she departs on February 11th to represent Le Jardin at the State Tournament on the Big Island.
