On November 6th, the class of 2010 made Le Jardin Homecoming history by winning two straight homecoming games; a feat never accomplished by any other class in the five years of the Junior –Senior Homecoming game.

Before the game however, the Juniors had high hopes to repeat as the second straight Junior class to beat the Seniors. They had an extremely athletic roster including ILH (Interscholastic League of Hawaii) football player Josh Kava and former ILH football player Kelvin Akamine. The Juniors used a running attack to gain yard after yard against the Senior defense.  Nearing the end of regulation, Kava threw a last second touchdown pass to Colton Campbell tying the game at 22-22, but they could not convert the extra point which could have won them the game. After the missed opportunity, the seniors took advantage with a last second throw from John Whitty that was then caught by Travis Parke winning the game for the undefeated Seniors. Final score: Seniors 28, Juniors 22.

“The game was all luck,” said Junior Kelsey Tanouye with no remorse.

After the game, a “Glow” dance was attended by the student body which was prepared by the Student Government and Mrs. Omori.

“It was the best dance I have ever attended,” said Senior Matt Leong. The dance was complimented by glow sticks, black lighting, strobe lights, light shows, food and royalty. A big congrats to Kevin Lui and Brittany Daniels who were crowned Homecoming King and Queen at the dance.

“The dance was a great success. I appreciated the hard work put in to make it such a success,” stated Taryk Alsagoff.

The 2009 Homecoming game and dance was appreciated by all. Thanks to the Senior and Junior class for putting on a great show and to the Student Government for making the dance such an amazing event.
